Bio
Andrea Wabeke graduated from Schoolcraft College in 1984, and began her
court reporting career as a freelance reporter. In 1989 she became employed
in the state court in Detroit, Michigan, finally landing a spot working in
the Juvenile Court for the Honorable James E. Lacey. While there, she
furthered her studies and obtained a Bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in
History and French, from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
In 1995 she was hired into the federal court by the Honorable John Corbett
O’Meara, also in Detroit, Michigan. In 2002, she quit the federal court to
pursue her passion for travel, seeing 15 countries in 372 days with her
husband, Michael. Upon return in 2003, she freelanced for a local firm. In
2004, she reapplied to the federal court and was rehired by Judge O’Meara,
where she continues her employment in the divisional office of Ann Arbor,
Michigan.
Andrea became USCRA’s 6th Circuit representative in 2004, and has been a
member of the Board of Directors ever since. She maintains both the RMR and
CRR certificates. While not attending to USCRA duties, she is an avid
triathlete.
