USCRA EXPRESSES ITS SINCERE CONDOLENCES
TO THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF
TWO FALLEN COLLEAGUES

Julie Ann Brandau was the court reporter assigned to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Rowland Barnes in Atlanta, Georgia. Julie, her judge, and a deputy were shot and killed as they carried out their routine courtroom duties on the morning of March 11, 2005. Donations, cards, and other expressions of condolence may be sent to: GSRA/Julie Brandau Memorial Fund, 2500 Dallas Highway, Suite 202, PMB 223, Marietta, GA 30064.

Gary Sonntag was a freelance reporter in Chicago, Illinois, and served on the NCRA Board of Directors at the time of his death. Gary suffered a major heart attack and died on Saturday, March 5, 2004, while participating in an Illinois state association seminar. Gary was active in national and state court reporting associations right up to the time of his death and is well-known for his participation in NCRA’s speed contest championships. Please direct donations in Gary’s name to the National Court Reporters Foundation, 8224 Old Courthouse Road, Vienna, VA 22182-3808.
