Information about USCRA’s Role with the Federal Court Clerks Association Oral Histories Project
USCRA has partnered with the Federal Court Clerks Association (FCCA) to record oral histories of retiring clerks of court across the country. Onsite federal official court reporters will be asked to report an in-person interview, transcribe the proceedings, and e-mail a PDF transcript to the designated FCCA representative. FCCA will be the owner of these transcripts.
This is a volunteer project. Though thanked profusely by both USCRA and FCCA, participating FOCRs are not compensated for their costs and, consequently, may choose to decline a request to participate.
The first FCCA interview in the project was reported by Jerry Kelley of McKinney, Texas. About the experience, Jerry wrote: “I loved everything about the entire day. I personally know most of the other clerks of court that were mentioned, and I really did enjoy the entire Q&A session. Near the end of the interview, USCRA was thanked, and I was thanked for my time and effort. I would quickly agree to another assignment like this.”
The FCCA
interview outline and the
first three pages of Jerry’s transcript may be used as a guide.
