THE HONORABLE JOHN R. TUNHEIM ANNUAL
REALTIME SPEED CONTEST
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8 , 2010
Are you ready? Have you been practicing? Have you been building your
confidence in your writing? Then it’s time to show your stuff, time to
make a run for the trophy and the prize money. It’s time for USCRA’s
realtime speed contest.
This year’s contest will take place following the seminars on Friday
afternoon of the convention. You’ll be able to take advantage of the
continuing education in the afternoon seminars and you’ll be finished
well before the Friday night Moonlight Tour.
The first place qualifier will take home not only the contest’s
traveling trophy to display in your home or office for one year but also
prize money of $500.00.
Join the ranks of the best writers for this event in a test of realtime
skill. The Realtime Speed Contest is five minutes of recorded two-voice
Q&A material at 230 words per minute. 96% accuracy is required to
qualify. Any candidate who qualifies receives .4 CEUs from NCRA. Please
note, reporters are allowed to receive these CEUs only once during their
three-year cycle. The top three contestants will be recognized at the
President's Banquet Saturday evening.
Entry fee is $50. USCRA membership and at least a one-day convention
registration are required to compete. Watch for convention details to
come. For more information, e-mail Brenda Fauber, Realtime Issues
